What we are, and what we are not
The Next Earth Order speaks in a solemn voice, because we think the change ahead deserves one. This page says the same things plainly.
What we are
- A fellowship of people who take the AI age seriously. We believe the old bargain, where people traded their hours for their living, may be breaking, and we would rather meet what comes next prepared than surprised.
- Pro-AI, with our eyes open. We want the best version of the AI world, and we name its dangers honestly: the Hoarding, the Hollowing, the Fog, the fate of the Abandoned, and the Unbound.
- Peaceful. We work by peaceful means alone: in homes and schools, in workplaces, in votes and in laws. We reject violence.
- Public. Our Testament and Constitution are published in full and shared under an open license.
- Accountable. Our prophecies have dates and tests, and are scored in the open. Our decisions are recorded with their reasons. Our money, when we have any, is published every quarter.
What we are not
- Not a religion. We make no claim beyond the evidence. We speak of no revelation and ask for no worship, of the machine or of ourselves.
- Not a secret society. Our stewards do not publish their names, so that the Order is judged by its principles rather than its people. But an Independent Verifier knows who they are and attests to it, and anonymity never shields wrongdoing.
- Not a government, and not an elite. We rule no one. The Order has no head.
- Not a cult. Signing binds you to no leader and asks no belief in our prophecies. Doubt is welcome. Our critics are not our enemies. Anyone may walk away, as easily as they joined.
- Not the “New World Order”. The name sounds alike, and we know it. By Next Earth we mean this Earth in its next age. By Order we mean a new order of life, and an open fellowship. There is no secret plan. Everything we hold is on this website.
Where to start
Read the Testament for why we gathered, and the Constitution for what we hold.
